Home.

The most important place in our world. The most beautiful, loved and cherished space, there is no where I would rather be more.

Inspired by my previous post and this amazing girl here!

...

A new little purchase. Even if I never make anything out of it (so not the case) I just love looking at the pages, the simplistic, and oh so beautiful photography, the gorgeous Japanese writing. Even the thank you note is pretty.

Now... Which one to make first?

The Shadow Project

A picture from a recent bike ride with my Dad.
Our shadows.
Country air.
Wind in my face.
Shadows,
What is your shadow doing right now?
Inspired by Color me Katie. (feels so weird to spell colour color!)

Lost generation

It is one of the most powerful things I have seen.
I believe every word... in the reverse order of course.

Creative Genius

I don't know if I have ever talked about my favourite book: Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. I have certainly thought about it, in fact this book is often on my mind. I love it. Love, love love it. It was so fantastic that I can't wait to read it again. I can't wait to see what it teaches me the next time round. I recommend it to all of my friends, just as I recommend it to you.
I'm sure you will take from it what ever you may need at this time in your life...
And if at this time in your life you feel like listening to Elizabeth herself, please have a look at this...
Elizabeth Gilbert's talk on creative genius...
It is well worth the 19 minutes of your time. I really love the way she talks about the poems. I can really relate...

thejadeleaf: Inspiration

Welcome to thejadeleaf. My place and space to share all the bits and pieces of this world that I love and enjoy. I have thought about starting a blog for a while now, inspired by all of the amazing blogs I read daily, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to go so public so soon. I am a private person and felt that if I started a blog it would be like sharing my private thoughts with people whom I normally wouldn't! If you know what I mean...Then I came across something that changed my mind. "The best thing about having a blog is that, if you do it everyday, you start to see everyday as an opportunity, not just to take a picture and talk about jam, but to look at things differently. An opportunity to gain some perspective on the prosaic aspects of our lives, those we tend to take for granted." The above is a small extract from Alicia Paulson's new book, 'Stitched In Time - Memory Keeping Projects to Sew and Share'. This is the quote that inspired me to have my own blog. Somewhere to share the small things, the things like Alicia quoted 'that we tend to take for granted'. Ever since I read this I have stopped to smell a beautiful rose, and stopped to feel the warmth of the sun on my back, and stopped to take a photograph of something I would normally walk right past. I have stopped to enjoy the simple things in life, which to me, is what life is all about... Welcome to thejadeleaf.
