baking for her dadda
i think it is really important to include her in most of my daily activities. it allows her play to have meaning, she often surprises me with what she already knows in these situations, just from her own observations. here, we are making papas breakfast muffins. she was so excited to give them to him when he got home. "dada", "dadda" "hot" "cake". And the best parts... The mess. The licking of the wooden spoon. And the washing up...

the beach: my first outing
I'm up and about. Just. Only now can I venture a tiny bit further from home. This was my first outing.
The beach. My two loves. An esky. Watermelon. And our bright yellow umbrella.

beach babe
While I sit here watching the rain fall from the comfort of the warm lounge room, our visit to the beach only a few days ago reminds me that Spring, whilst glorious and magical, is also unstable and temperamental.

...
First time goop-ing it. I don't know who loved it more. Me. Or her. Goop is such a wonderful texture, a great sensory activity for children of all ages.
Recipe for Goop
Cornflour
Water
Food colouring or paint (optional)
Mix all ingredients together, I never measure things out, so just throw them all in and stir - with fingers of course, until you get the desired consistency. If you've never made goop before, the desired consistency is when you can pick up the goop, roll it in your hand in a ball, and then let it 'melt' through your fingers!
Have fun and enjoy the mess!

They may not be perfect. But she loves. Loves them. Especially the one that goes "oink oink".
